Dreams are powerful message bearers. One powerful form of dream symbolism is color. As you dream, pay close attention to the colors that appear. Are they unusual? Do they seem particularly striking or brilliant? These colors can often be bringing wisdom with them in subtle ways.

For example, purple is the color of the psychic power. It represents the third eye chakra, and also connects us to spirituality and the other world. If a dream is bathed in purple, it represents being surrounded by this power. It might be time to develop your third eye.

White, on the other hand, represents purity, perfection, peace, innocence, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. You may be experiencing a reawakening or have a fresh outlook on life. Alternatively, white refers to a clean, blank slate. Dreaming of a blanket of snow, for example, a clean start and a fresh, new perspective. It is indicative of spiritual peace and tranquility.

Blue, another powerful and common dream color, can represent represents truth, wisdom, heaven, eternity, devotion, tranquility, loyalty and openness. It can indicate a readiness to open yourself up to a spiritual devotion or practice. Dreaming of a vast pool of bright blue water, or an ocean, can be indicative of emotions, and the need to acknowledge and understand your feelings. It is time to dive in and deal with those emotions. Alternatively, a pool indicates your desire to be cleansed. You need to wash away the past.

It is also important to combine color symbolism with other images that emerge from a dream. For example, if there is a car in the dream, cars often represent our identity. A purple car could represent a strong identity with psychic power and the third eye. Perhaps you are feeling confident in your abilities and in the knowledge that your sight brings you.

The inclusion of eyeglasses in the dream could also be telling you that you need to refocus your attentions in order to see things more clearly, or that you need to choose a different lens through which to observe your surroundings.

On the other hand, imagery that represents blindness or darkening of the eyes, when coupled with the purple symbolism, could represent a powerful block or unwillingness to accept this energy.

Sometimes our sight is clearest when we close our eyes. Don’t’ be misled by what you think you see: dig deeper to find the reality that lies beneath.
